RODNEY CARSON

CLU®, CHFC®

FINANCIAL ADVISOR

ABOUT ROD

Rod applies his more than 40 years of deep and broad experience in financial planning to serve a diverse group of pre-retirees, financially independent women, retirees, and successful entrepreneurs and professionals.

Rod’s enthusiasm and enjoyment of his work drive his passion to help people pursue their goals so they can enjoy the things that are truly important to them. He has three principles that he lives by: Make a difference in people’s lives, build meaningful relationships, and live life around love to serve others.

As a Certified Financial Planner professional, he has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. He also holds the professional designations of Chartered Financial Consultant® and Chartered Life Underwriter®, is a graduate of the Life Underwriter Training Council, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Before joining our team, Rod was a financial planner, branch manager and marketing specialist at MetLife, where he worked for more than 20 years. In his desire to be more than an “administrator” and provide truly personal service, he joined Raymond James in 2000 as an independent advisor. By intentionally limiting the number of clients he works with, he is able to provide the dedicated service he envisioned for each one.

When he is not busy helping his clients, Rod devotes his time to serving the less fortunate throughout the communities where he has lived. He has led and served on various commissions over the years at the Church of the Nativity, and is currently the site coordinator for the church’s community blood drive.

He has served on the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Outreach Board and has been elected as a grand knight with the Knights of Columbus, where he received The Lumen Christi Award* for stewardship.

He has served as a board member of Catholic Charities for St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri, and as a volunteer with St. Mary’s Food Kitchen and the Uplift Organization, delivering food to the homeless. Rod and his wife also lead a group to Guatemala for a mission trip each year.

Originally from Topeka, Kansas, Rod and his wife, Jane, reside in Overland Park, Kansas, and Camdenton, Missouri. They have four daughters: Amy Flagg, Amy Hays, Michele Fritz and Danielle Carson-Peronto. In their free time, they enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and spending time with their four children and eight grandchildren.
